Senior Engineering & Maintenance Manager

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead our Engineering and Maintenance function at Zotefoams in Croydon.

This is a key leadership role covering maintenance, reliability engineering, asset management, CAPEX projects and engineering compliance across a complex manufacturing site.

You’ll help move our engineering function towards a more planned, preventative and data led approach, improving plant reliability, reducing downtime and developing the capability of the engineering team.

Whether you’re currently an Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, Senior Engineering Manager or Head of Engineering, we’d be keen to hear from you if you’ve led engineering within a manufacturing or process environment.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead and develop our multi-skilled Engineering and Maintenance team.

• Improve plant reliability, availability and equipment performance.

• Develop preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.

• Lead root cause analysis and reduce recurring equipment failures.

• Develop our asset care, integrity and replacement strategy.

• Lead CAPEX and engineering projects from business case through to commissioning.

• Manage engineering budgets, contractors and shutdown activities.

• Ensure compliance across areas including PSSR, PUWER, LOLER, DSEAR, CDM and HV electrical systems.

• Improve engineering data, maintenance planning and use of our CMMS.

• Build capability through coaching, training, apprenticeships and succession planning.

What we’re looking for

• Strong engineering leadership experience within manufacturing, process manufacturing or heavy industry.

• Experience leading a multi-skilled engineering and maintenance function.

• Strong knowledge of maintenance, reliability and asset management.

• Experience improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime.

• Experience delivering CAPEX projects within an operational manufacturing environment.

• Good knowledge of UK engineering and statutory compliance.

• Engineering degree or equivalent professional experience.

• CEng/IEng status and a NEBOSH qualification would be advantageous.

Experience with equipment such as refrigeration systems, steam boilers, compressors, autoclaves, thermal oil heaters or extrusion equipment would also be useful.
