About the Role:
The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the effective execution of maintenance activities to support safe, stable, and reliable operation of production equipment and utility systems.
This is a hands‑on role in a newly established manufacturing environment, supporting equipment installation, commissioning, and ramp‑up, with a strong focus on maintaining equipment uptime and stable process conditions to ensure consistent product quality.
Role Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and company procedures.
Promote safe working practices and proper use of tools and equipment.
Maintenance Operations
Supervise daily maintenance activities for production equipment and facility systems.
Ensure timely response to breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
Coordinate maintenance work to support continuous and stable operations.
Ensure equipment operates within defined conditions to support production performance.
Preventive Maintenance & Equipment Reliability
Establish and execute preventive maintenance (PM) plans, standards, and guidelines.
Monitor equipment conditions and identify potential issues early.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Drive improvements to reduce breakdown frequency and increase equipment stability.
Monitor and improve PM performance using data‑driven approaches.
Equipment Installation & Ramp‑up Support
Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
Participate in trial runs and equipment handover activities.
Ensure maintenance readiness during factory ramp‑up.
Utilities & Facility Support
Oversee maintenance of utilities such as compressed air, cooling systems, and wastewater treatment.
Ensure utility systems operate reliably to support continuous production.
Support troubleshooting of utility-related issues impacting production.
Team Supervision
Lead and supervise maintenance technicians.
Plan daily work allocation and monitor task completion.
Support training and development of team members.
Cross-functional Coordination
Work closely with Production, Engineering, and QA teams.
Support production by minimising downtime and ensuring stable equipment performance.
Align maintenance priorities with operational needs.
What you'll need:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
5–8 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in process-driven industries (foam, plastics, polymer, or similar) is preferred.
Experience in equipment installation, commissioning, or ramp‑up is a strong advantage.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and high-pressure systems (TCU, HPU).
Experience in preventive maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.
Ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions.
Hands-on, proactive approach with ability to work on the shopfloor.
Good leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
English communication at a working level.
