About the Role:
Provides supervision to Extrusion, HP, Talc, LP and Fabrication departments and staff on assigned shift (12-hour shifts, alternating 36-hour week/48-hour week, alternating weekends). Oversees the daily workflow and assignments and participates in the constructive and timely performance evaluations. This position will oversee and manage departmental manufacturing shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and production metric standards; Provide oversight, facilitation, and guidance of each department to enable and ensure staff competence, operational consistency, and resource effectiveness to safeguard optimal customer satisfaction and attainment of company goals and objectives.
Role Responsibilities:
• Supervise and provide overall direction to staff within Extrusion, HP, Talc, LP and Fabrication departments.
• Coordinate manufacturing workflow within and between departments; to ensure optimal deployment of all resources (staff and equipment), standardized processes, and peak performance.
• Coordinate with management to establish and track progress of goals, including communications and with staff.
• Conduct daily shift transition meetings, including documentation of progress, challenges, and action items to be shared with management and others.
• Collaborate with Planning/Scheduling; communication production schedule and making modifications as needed.
• Create/review SOPs, FCD’s, work instructions ad needed and ensure timely and standardized roll-out across shifts and departments.
• Provide and document training to existing and new staff, ensuring standardization of processes across shifts and between departments. Crosstrain between departments for optimal bench strength and fluid deployment; ensure all staff have proper safety training, including reach, forklift, heights, lifting, etc.
• Review, mentor, correct, and elevate staff to clarify expectations, promote personal accountability and high performance; contribute to review process; provide timely, constructive competency assessments and feedback on temp labor as well as current staff.
• Coordinate with human resources to respond to employee concerns, complaints, or behavioral concerns and disciplinary action.
• Process and ensure accuracy, consumption, and inventory control within ERP transactions, Microsoft AX, to include transactions from inventory, batch work orders, throughout the manufacturing operation.
• Manage Consumables Inventory list and provide to procurement timely/
• Responsible for monitoring downtime, gathering data to include OEE recordation, reporting, and ERP transactions/reports as needed.
• Collaborate cross-functionally/inter-departmentally to troubleshoot departmental areas of concern, conduct trials as requested, and work on projects as needed.
• Effectively escalate and report any potential safety, manufacturing, and or operational risks or shortages.
• Ensure safe running of all equipment to internal safety guidelines and all associated areas are maintained in a safe, orderly, and tidy manner; report any equipment issues to maintenance.

• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
• Report all defective equipment and unsafe working practices to management.
• Maintain working areas to high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping.
• Maintain effective internal working relationships.
• Assist with other assignments and in other business areas as required by management.
• Complete occasional internal training related to quality and production applications.
What you'll need:
• High School Diploma, associate’s degree preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Lean Manufacturing and ISO experience is welcomed.
• Microsoft Office and ERP experience is preferred.
